Professional Development Program
Are you pursuing a career in art, media, or other creative departments? Our summer program will allow you to integrate your passions into a collaborative learning environment. Our founder, Tatyana Ceant has created the Professional Development Program to allow our team to assist you on career development, networking and self discovery within your career field.
Mission
“Creating accessible calls to action through art. We aim to be an example that prioritizing interpersonal development via authentic self-expression can have a positive impact on world issues.” - theartistmedia
Public schools are losing funding due to the introduction of the federal school voucher program. But, theartistmedia is not ready to give up. The creation of this program is to motivate, educate and empower young creatives to take initiative in their future careers. We believe art is our power, not a hopeless dream.
Program Expectations
Our multi-media company, theartistmedia, is proud to launch our Professional Development Program in the summer of 2025. This program is 2 weeks long, and participants will meet twice a week to discuss professional and personal development. We will be sharing resources about career readiness through resume building and technical skills. Additionally, we will be sharing insight on self awareness through hosting workshops and having open ended discussions about your social skills.
This is a virtual, asynchronous program for teens and adults. This program will consist of different strategies to incorporate goal setting and career planning in your life. Resources such as taking notes in meetings, preparing for an interview and marketing yourself to others can improve your chances of being recognized by hiring companies. We will learn how to integrate your interests into the workforce, and get you through the door into your desired career.
Overview of Self Awareness
Your personality is key to understanding yourself, and presenting your best self to employers. Being attentive to your hobbies, character traits and social skills can help identify which areas help you grow and what you can work on. These aspects of yourself can help you stand out in rooms and help you speak confidently with others about your skills. Effective communication includes being composed, intentional and engaging in your conversations.
We designed a framework to go in depth about how you should navigate conversations and practice self awareness. R.E.F.L.E.C.T. can be used while you unpack your hardships, addressing a problem with others and reflecting on situations that have affected you.
Recall - Address the situation. Don’t allow the event to overwhelm you nor stir you into a spiral. Break down what happened in order.
Elaborate - Pinpoint which instance affected you. Pay attention to what you didn’t like, and how that made you feel.
Focus - Be attentive to yourself. How do your emotions differ during and after the situation? Find an appropriate space to tend to yourself and let it out.
Learn - What can you take away from this moment? How can you move forward onto your better self? Improvement comes with accountability, and acceptance. What did you learn about yourself?
Execute - Plan to address your concern with another person. If you are still troubled by the event, try connecting with someone about the matter. After taking time to process your emotions, its best to act on them appropriately and practice communicating them to other people.
Consider - How can you address this to someone else? Are you going back to the problem? Maintain an appropriate attitude and consider all of your options.
Time - If it doesn’t bother you after 24-48 hours, let it go. Tend to yourself and take as much time as you need to heal and elevate. Take control of your emotions, don’t let them control you. Utilizing these steps can encourage you to practice mindfulness and effectively communicate with other people. There will be additional examples on self awareness within our program.
